WELCOME

The Wildernesse Estate, in the north-east corner of Sevenoaks, is an exceptional residential estate close to London, with substantial and secluded high-quality homes in a tranquil rural setting.

The Wildernesse Residents Association (WRA) aims to represent the interests of residents, protect the character of the Estate and encourage development in keeping with the local Conservation Area. It is a voluntary organisation but most residents are members.

This website sets out the role and activities of the WRA. It explains the covenants which protect the form of the Estate, the impact of the Conservation Area on development and our interaction with local councils and other groups. It is intended primarily for residents but may be useful for all with an interest in the local area. Non-residents are welcome to join the WRA as a ‘friend’.

The area of the Estate, which covers about 300 acres, is defined by the covenants under which the land was sold for development in the 1920s. This land formed the core around the historic mansion Wildernesse House, which still exists and now provides luxury homes for older people. The Estate incorporates several private roads and part of the public roads Seal Hollow Road,Blackhall Lane and Park Lane

Today, there are more than 160 substantial detached houses on the Estate, each with a large garden, as well as a number of mews houses and the apartments of Wildernesse House. The Estate also includes woodland and rolling pasture. There is easy access to the M25, Sevenoaks’ two mainline rail stations and all the amenities of the town. The map shows the general location of the Estate.
